LATEST CHANGES TO PART L BUILDING REGULATIONS – HOW THEY WILL AFFECT YOUR CHOICE OF WINDOWS AND DOORS IN NEW BUILDS AND UPDATES TO EXISTING HOMES

Government changes to Part L of the Building Regulations in England come into effect on 15th June 2022.

The aim of the changes is to reduce the amount of carbon emitted from our buildings and homes by 30%, compared to current levels of emission.

These changes will implicate the design and construction of homes, including your choice of windows and doors. Westcoast supply a full range of energy efficient composite windows to meet these regulations.

(*Please note: Information provided in this new article is correct at the time of writing.)

This update is an improvement on existing energy efficiency standards for homes, and will be a stepping stone towards the Future Homes Standard planned for 2025.

The changes will apply to new homes, including self-build homes, and in existing homes standards have been raised to reduce energy use and carbon emissions during home improvements.
