GLASS DIVIDING GLAZING BARS
- Glazing bars can change the character of a window without having to sacrifice function or performance.
- 70mm wide.
- Designed to suit your requirements – below are a few suggestions:
Westcoast Windows unique composite system consists of an outer part of powder coated aluminium, which is resistant to harsh weather conditions and an inner part of the wood for a warmer feel indoors. This combination offers the maximum lifespan and minimum maintenance.
Around a third of a property’s heat is lost through poorly insulated windows, so ensuring you fit energy efficient products should be high on your list of priorities, whether you’re replacing existing windows and doors or designing a new house or building.
With Westcoast Windows the aluminium and timber are bonded to make a truly composite frame and sash. The timber element acts as a thermal break to ensure very high levels of insulation, and seals housed into the grooves within the sash create exceptional air and weather tightness.
By using our high performance windows and doors, you can create an energy efficient home and a pleasant living space, whilst helping to reduce heating costs and also lessen your impact on the environment.

The sound proofing of windows is measured in Rw values, based on the amount of noise reduction at high and low frequencies. The higher the Rw value, the better the insulation. To take into account the actual background noise such as traffic, plane and train noise a correction factor (Ctr) has been introduced, expressed as Rw + Ctr.
Westcoast Windows standard entry level double-glazing units offer excellent sound reduction – Rw = 34 dB and Rw + Ctr = 29 dB respectively.
Areas of high noise pollution can be better protected by increasing the thickness of the glass, using acoustic laminated panes or adjusting the size of the cavities between glass panes.
Westcoast Windows can offer a variety of tested glass combinations to improve whole window noise reduction up to 48 dB Rw. Download Westcoast Acoustics datasheet for a table on a number of noise-reducing glass combinations.
Secured by Design (SBD) is a nationwide police initiative to encourage the adoption of crime prevention measures for new build and refurbished homes and commercial premises.
Developed by the Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (PCPI) and working closely with independent testing and auditing authorities, licenced developments are proven to reduce crimes such as burglary by at least 50%.
Westcoast Windows is a licenced member of Secured by Design and our certified windows and door products can be specified to provide safety, security and peace of mind.

TSG 180 window is designed so that small children can’t open the window more than about 10cm.
The lock can be released by pushing in the latch on the left hand side of the frame. There is a second locking position at 30cm and this is released in the same way.
Our laminated glass is created by sticking two sheets of glass together with plastic film. This is then processed through an autoclave where the film undergoes high pressure and temperature to fuse the glass into a complete unit.
This results in laminated safety glass, which when broken sticks to the plastic film, with no lose fragments to minimise injury. Laminated glass also protects against UV radiation, where UV transmission is only 2% compared to around 50% in clear unlamented glass.
Thermally toughened safety glass which is heated to around 650o C, then cooled quickly to create compressive stresses in the surface layers and tensile stresses in the centre. Thermally tempered glass can withstand considerably greater loads than ordinary glass and fulfils the requirements of Class 1 (C) 3 – 1 (C) first.
Tempered glass is ideal for areas where the window might sustain high loads from heavy, not sharp objects, such as kicks or if a person might fall against the glass. Additionally it eliminates the risk of thermal cracking which is particularly important in areas of full sun.
Westcoast Windows’ fully glazed patio doors and sliding doors are supplied with tempered glass on the inside and outside as standard.
Sometimes it is necessary to use fire windows in a building, according to Building Regulations.
A fire safety window should prevent or slow the spread of fire within a certain time frame, so that the emergency exits and escape routes are kept clear during this time. Fire class is identified by either E or EI followed by the number of minutes that it must withstand fire.
Class E15 means the window is able to stop flames and smoke for 15 minutes. Class EI15 means the window will be able to stop the flames and smoke for 15 minutes while the temperature on the side not exposed to the fire will reach a maximum of 140 ° warmer than the surrounding air’s temperature.
Westcoast Windows can provide products with fire rating E15, E30, E45 and EI15, EI30, EI45.
Westcoast Windows windows are manufactured with careful consideration for the environment, resulting in high quality doors and windows combined with peace of mind for the environment.
We are committed to using only energy efficient sustainable materials that can be recycled or disposed of by environmentally friendly methods. Because of our unique window construction we don’t need to rely on preservative to treat our wood, only water-based paint.

Westcoast Decorative Glass
Glass which uses natures own powers of sunlight and rain to keep the glass free of dirt.
Limits the rate at which a fire can spread. Tested to 45 minutes for integrity and insulation.
With the advent of ultra low emissivity glazing, external condensation has become an issue during Autumn. No longer a problem with our anti-condensation outer pane.
