NORFOLK FARM HOUSE WITH LINK NEW-BUILD

WESTCOAST COMPOSITE WINDOWS WERE THE IDEAL SOLUTION FOR THIS TRADITIONAL NORFOLK FARM HOUSE WITH CONTEMPORARY LINK NEW-BUILD

Westcoast distributor partner, Aluminium Clad Windows, were pleased to supply the windows and doors for this combined renovated farm house with new linked ‘barn’ addition.

Aluminium Clad Windows worked closely with the client and Wymondham based architects, Lucas Hickman Smith, to specify suitable windows for the development.

The original near derelict Georgian farm house had its two ground floor windows lengthened to allow maximum light into the reception room and study – these were fitted with bespoke composite triple-glazed fixed light windows with glazing bars to match the first floor sash windows.

Aluminium Clad Windows commissioned the three bespoke timber sliding sash windows for the first floor and both sets of windows were finished in the same bespoke heritage style Pebble grey colour, sympathetic to the painted cream exterior.

The side elevation of the farmhouse was fitted with Design Series triple-glazed composite windows finished in the stylish dark grey RAL 7012, to carry through to the new linked ‘barn’ addition.  

The new two story addition was built to take advantage of the location – on one side an elevated sitting room with 6 metre composite sliding doors opens out onto a balcony with long views over open farmland and the Norfolk broads in the distance.  

The ground floor open plan kitchen and dining room was fitted with Westcoast Windows composite Lift & Slide doors to open onto the outside patio and garden.  The upper floor master bedroom has matching glazing with Tilt & Slide Doors.

The warm wood interior of the composite windows and doors was finished in two different styles, with a white stain effect on the new ‘barn’ addition windows and doors and a Pine lacquer on the period building.
