AWARD-WINNING CONTEMPORARY UNIQUE NEW BUILD BENEFITS FROM LARGE COMPOSITE WINDOWS GLAZING
Westcoast supplied the high performance Swedish aluminium and oak composite windows for this contemporary award-winning new build in Norfolk.
Westcoast Windows were pleased to supply their windows and doors for this prestigious award-wining new build project, working with Norfolk Pro Build as the main contractors and project architects Chaplin Farrant.
The project involved the demolition of a bungalow and the clever re-siting and building of a new four bedroom home, using contemporary architecture.
The building is a curved design, featuring copper roof panels and rain water guttering, with external walls clad in a combination of copper paneling, lime render and larch boarding.

Westcoast Windows’ Design series triple-glazed composite windows and doors are the obvious choice for a contemporary new build, offering a deeper glass unit creating a minimal step between outer glass and frame for maximum light, a flush finish and simple, elegant lines.
For this project the low maintenance aluminium exterior was finished in stylish graphite grey RAL 7016 (30% gloss) and the warm wood interior finished in American White Oak with a clear lacquer to complete the look.
Wild Acres was awarded the Graham Allen Award 2017 for it’s contribution to the built environment in the Norfolk North District.
It was praised by judges for its intelligent reaction to site context, topography and landscape setting; visual interest portrayed by the curved form; low lying position and shallow pitch ensuring a discreet presence; and sustainable technology including ground source heating.
Wild Acres won the People’s Choice Award, which is determined by public vote during the Greenbuild weekend – NNDC’s annual green lifestyle event held in September at Felbrigg Hall. At the Design & Craftsmanship Awards 2017 Norfolk Association of Architects awarded the President’s Commendation to Wild Acres for it’s “Excellent level of Design and Craftsmanship”.
