WESTCOAST TO SUPPLY SWEDISH COMPOSITE WINDOWS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AXION HOUSE IN LEWISHAM

Westcoast will be supplying the Swedish composite windows for a new 145,000ft2 commercial residential development in Lewisham.

Axion House is a new development in the London Borough of Lewisham, which includes the demolition of existing industrial buildings and the creation of a vibrant area of high quality homes, commercial spaces and public realm.

The development consists of two linked buildings providing 141 residential units with commercial use on the ground floor.

The aim is for a sustainable development comprising of a centralised plant area for the provision of heat and power as the most efficient way of delivering energy. By utilising Westcoast composite windows, the development will benefit from exceptional energy efficiency and weathertightness achieved through the aluminium and timber bonded construction.

Westcoast will supply 2,000m2 of Design Series triple glazed composite windows for the project, which is due for completion in early 2024. As the development is adjacent to a railway, acoustic attenuation has been specified up to 37dB Rw+Ctr.

The low maintenance aluminium exterior of the composite windows will be finished in RAL 6014 (yellow olive).
