COMPOSITE WINDOWS ARE DESIGNED TO HELP KEEP YOUR HOME WARM IN WINTER AND COOL IN SUMMER

Westcoast aluminium timber composite windows are manufactured on the west coast of Sweden. Although they are designed and built to withstand the harshest of Scandinavian climates, they are also extremely effective at maintaining an even, comfortable temperature during the hottest of summers.

Composite windows for a warm home in winter

A window’s energy performance is measured by U-value, which measures thermal performance in terms of heat loss. The unit of measurement is W/m2K and the better insulated the window is, the lower the U-value will be. When you improve the window’s energy efficiency you also reduce the need for heating within the home, further reducing your carbon emissions.

Bonded construction – Westcoast’s unique composite system consists of an outer part of powder coated aluminium, which is resistant to harsh weather conditions and an inner part of the wood for a warmer feel indoors. The timber element acts as a thermal break enabling the frame to offer very high levels of insulation. This combination offers the maximum lifespan and minimum maintenance.

Thermal insulation – Only the latest low emissivity glass coatings are employed in our sealed units to provide whole window U-value ranges from 1.4w/m2k to as low as 0.9w/m2k.

Composite windows help to maintain an even temperature in warm weather

Thermal insulation also applies in hot weather – The U-value of a window is not only a measure of its thermal performance in terms of keeping the heat in, but actually a measure of how easily heat passes through it. Therefore the same principle applies in hot weather, where the window can help to reduce the amount of heat passing through into the home, helping to maintain a comfortable temperature indoors.

Solar Control Glass is an option – high performance solar control glass coatings can be applied to limit heat gain within the building without sacrificing light transmission. Our UK-based team can help to talk you through the options and benefits.

Sliding doors bring the outside in

When the summer weather is a bearable temperature, what better way to enjoy the fresh air and your outside space than with composite sliding doors.

Ideal for kitchens, open-plan living and bedrooms, composite sliding doors allow you to create a seamless flow between your indoor and outdoor spaces. With large glazing panels up to 6 metres wide and 2.4 metres high, sliding doors allow you to make the best possible use of daylight. The easy glide action makes them quick and effortless to use.
