Westcoast design and manufacture energy efficient aluminium timber composite windows in our factory on the west coast of Sweden. We were pleased to supply and install Westcoast composite windows for the development of the new Lambeth Resource Centre in London.

Farrans Construction, working with architects Rock Townsend, has delivered the development of Lambeth Resource Centre, which provides a range of services for adults with learning disabilities.

The Resource Centre includes day spaces, therapy spaces and a safe outdoor space. The project also creates short-term and long-term residential accommodation with care for adults with disabilities. In addition, the Resource Centre includes an ancillary community space with café. The community space will be available for community hire in the evenings when not being used by the day centre. The café, although predominantly for staff and users of the Resource Centre is open to the general public, creating ‘a meeting point for all’.

Farrans completed the a state-of-the-art centre which provides a modern and accessible resource centre for complex needs.  The building takes advantage of the level differences on the South London site and is split on three floors which open towards a U-shaped courtyard.  A large terraced landscape and garden area is available for all residents, with a terrace outside the day room providing additional outside space for residents and visitors, for leisure, outdoor therapy sessions and group gatherings. Many of the residential units also have private balconies. All outdoor spaces are fully accessible.

Westcoast supplied and installed 400m² of our Classic Series composite windows along with 100m² of aluminium doors, finished in RAL 7012 Basalt Grey externally and clear lacquer internally. The popular TSG180 Top Hung Reversible Window are utilised throughout the build, combined with SHG Side Hung Windows and Sliding Doors. Special consideration was given to thermal comfort with the use of solar control glass and optimal security with Secured by Design accredited windows and doors.
