Westcoast design and manufacture Scandinavian aluminium timber composite windows in our factory on the west coast of Sweden.
We were pleased to supply our high performance Swedish composite windows for the development of affordable rental apartments for the over 55s in Ashford Kent. This is part of two developments in the area, alongside The Poplars.
Westridge Construction were instructed to deliver the two schemes. This scheme involved the demolition of an existing 1960s block of bedsits, and the construction of 24 one and two bedroomed affordable, rental apartments, specifically for over 55’s living.
The traditionally built apartments benefit from PV panels, high levels of thermal performance and renewable energy sources, assisting with the drive to reduce fuel poverty. The new development also provided luxury communal facilities, including lounge and dining areas, as well as a central atrium which creates a focal point to the building.
Westcoast supplied and installed 435m2 of high performance, energy efficient composite windows, in the triple-glazed Design series. The external high performance aluminium is finished in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey and the warm wood interior of the windows are standard white. The build features a combination of Westcoast products: Top Hung Reversible Composite Window (TSG180), Fixed Lights (FKG) and Single Terrace/Patio Composite Doors (FDG), with security windows and doors to Secured By Design (SBD) specification to the ground floor.
