Westcoast Windows Swedish composite windows can be certified to be fitted with Automatically Operated Vents (AOV) for smoke ventilation

Westcoast Windows design and manufacture high performance composite aluminium timber windows in our factory on the west coast of Sweden.

Following testing and certification via Warrington Fire, Westcoast windows are certified to be supplied as CE marked Automatically Operated Vents (AOVs) for smoke ventilation.

Working in conjunction with SE Controls, Westcoast supply and install the windows, which are then fitted with the appropriately specified actuators by SE Controls network of approved installers.

SE Controls is a specialist contractor providing a complete solution for both smoke and adaptive environmental ventilation via façade and building envelope automation. SE Controls are members of FETA (The Smoke Control Association) and are longstanding participants of the CEN Technical Committee Working Groups responsible for producing European standards, including EN 12101 and its future releases.

Westcoast’s technical sales team will work with SE Controls to ensure standards/regulations are met and select the appropriate tested solution.

Automatically Operated Vents are typically installed in windows in stair wells of high- rise buildings to allow for smoke ventilation in case of fire.
