WESTCOAST SWEDISH ALUMINIUM TIMBER COMPOSITE WINDOWS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW EDUCATION FACILITY
Westcoast design and manufacture high performance Swedish aluminium timber composite windows – the ideal glazing solution for high specification commercial developments.
Westcoast are pleased to be supplying the composite windows and doors for the development of a new teaching building at Harrow Arts Centre.
The new building creates four large teaching and community use rooms and will replace several dilapidated temporary classrooms dotted around the campus, and creates an invaluable revenue stream for the HAC.
Chris Dyson Architects have designed the building’s L-shaped plan and corrugated corten cladding to reflect the agricultural nature of the east end of the HAC campus, which was once a farm for a rural boarding school. A saw-tooth roof provides north light to all of the studios and the first floor teaching room. The ground floor teaching rooms open out onto a courtyard, allowing teaching to take place outdoors in good weather.
Working with developers, City Axis, Westcoast have supplied and installed 91 m2 of high performance, energy efficient bespoke composite windows and doors from the Classic double-glazed series.
Products specified include TSG45 Top Hung Projecting Window, SSG90 Side Hung Projecting Window, FDGD Double Terrace/Patio Doors and FKG Fixed Lights. The stylish low maintenance aluminium exterior is finished in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey and the warm wood knot-free pine interior in clear lacquer.
The project is due for completion in early 2023.
