At Westcoast Windows, sustainability is an essential part of how we design, manufacture and deliver every composite window and door
Manufactured in our own factory in Sweden, our composite windows are engineered to perform in some of Europe’s harshest climates while helping homeowners, architects and developers make more sustainable choices, without compromising on quality or performance.
Read on to learn more about our commitment to sustainability:
Built with responsibly sourced materials
Every Westcoast Composite Window combines two durable, certified materials, chosen for their long-term performance.
Our timber is sourced from PEFC-certified forests, ensuring it comes from responsibly managed woodland where environmental, social and economic standards are maintained.
The aluminium exterior is produced using renewable hydropower, significantly reducing the carbon footprint associated with its manufacture. Aluminium is also highly durable and fully recyclable, making it an ideal material for long-lasting window systems. Any aluminium offcuts generated during production are recycled back into the manufacturing process.
Manufacturing with purpose
Because we own and operate our manufacturing facility in Trollhättan, Sweden, we have complete oversight of the production process. This allows us to continually improve efficiency, reduce waste and maintain consistently high quality.
Every window is manufactured to order, helping to minimise unnecessary material waste; timber offcuts are converted into wood pellets. Our water-based paint system delivers an excellent finish with very low VOC emissions, contributing to healthier indoor environments.
Even our transport process is carefully considered. Custom-made pallets maximise vehicle loads, reducing unnecessary transport and improving efficiency throughout the supply chain.
Windows and doors designed for life
One of the most effective ways to reduce the environmental impact of any building material or component is to ensure it lasts.
Westcoast Composite Windows are engineered to withstand the demanding Nordic climate, making them exceptionally well suited to homes across the UK. Their combination of durable aluminium, high-quality timber and advanced glazing delivers outstanding thermal performance, low maintenance and a long life span.
For homeowners, that means fewer replacements, lower maintenance requirements and improved energy efficiency for years to come.
Supporting more energy-efficient homes
Improving the energy performance of homes remains one of the most effective ways to reduce energy consumption and lower carbon emissions.
Our high-performance composite windows achieve U-values as low as 0.80 W/m²K on fixed windows and 0.88 W/m²K on opening windows, helping homeowners and developers exceed the thermal performance expected of modern building projects.
Whether you’re renovating a period property or specifying windows for a new build, choosing high-performance glazing can play an important role in creating homes that are warmer, more comfortable and more energy efficient.
Built for the future
From responsibly sourced materials and efficient manufacturing to exceptional thermal performance and decades of reliable service, sustainability is embedded throughout the Westcoast Windows approach.
It’s all part of our commitment to creating premium composite windows that not only stand up to the toughest weather conditions, but also support a more sustainable future for homes across the UK.
