SWEDISH COMPOSITE WINDOWS FOR REFURBISHMENT AND EXTENSION OF YMCA BUILDING IN EALING
Westcoast were pleased to provide their Classic system composite windows for the refurbishment of the YMCA building in Ealing, West London, working with main contractors Rydon Refurbishment on a phased replacement over a two year period from 2013 to 2015.
The YMCA in Ealing is a busy sheltered housing facility that received a refurbishment, remodelling and new build programme to modernise and extend the building and the services it provides to young people in need.
The extensive programme provides 115 rooms, including en-suite, studio and one-bedroom accommodation, along with communal kitchens, lounge, café, offices and an activities studio. An extension was created to accommodate a glazed atrium, housing a new and enlarged reception area and a larger nursery facility.
Westcoast provided 400m2 of composite windows and doors across 115 rooms in our Classic series – a combination of our popular TSG180 (top hung reversible window) and FKG (fixed light window) units, including solar control glass to the south facing elevation.
Commercial aluminium doors were also supplied as part of the refurbishment.
“Rydon were happy to have Westcoast Windows as part of our supply chain. As well as providing a high quality product, their installers were reliable and safe, helping Rydon deliver this scheme with demanding construction programme, and with minimal defects.”
Paul Smith, Contracts Manager at Rydon
